Nextrusion believes that sustainability is just good business. We also walk the walk. We take every opportunity to minimize energy consumption, respect our limited natural resources and leave the smallest possible environmental footprint.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
It takes energy to produce high quality, safe feeds. The Nextrusion production process utilizes the most energy-efficient equipment available on the planet. This results in the lowest possible use of both electricity and natural gas.
CARBON FOOTPRINT
Minimizing ecologically sustainable footprint begins with Nextrusion’s location in the Southeastern region of the United States which is located in one of the US agricultural epicenters growing and manufacturing all the ingredients used by Nextrusion. As a result, incoming transportation miles are minimized. And because the manufacturing facility is located near the intersection of major east-west and north-south US interstates, outbound deliveries are on their way quickly and efficiently, thereby substantially reducing Nextrusion’s transportation carbon footprint and increasing efficiencies.
OCEAN FRIENDLY
At Nextrusion, we believe being ocean-friendly is mission critical. This is why we are proud members of, and actively working with, the Global Aquaculture Alliance to pursue the highest level of aquaculture feed facility best practices.
SEAFOOD GROWTH
The ability of our oceans to generate more food for our tables has topped out. We are at the point, and have been for some time, where ALL the growth in global seafood consumption comes from aquaculture.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
The harvests of the small forage fish in our oceans that represent a vital link in the food chain have been maxed out as well. These tiny fish are converted almost exclusively into fishmeal and fish oil for the aquaculture industry. They have been characterized as the most exploited fish in the world.
At Nextrusion, we are doing our part to help. This is why we embrace the use of fish meal and fish oil replacements when it makes sense to do so. Together we can make a difference.
